The RASS is used to describe a patient's level of alertness or agitation, most commonly during intubation to avoid over or under-sedation. Either extreme is bad for patient outcome and this tool assists providers in keeping a patient at an optimal level of sedation. This card is a must for any critical care, OR, or ICU staff. This scale was developed at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a fully licensed product from the university.
- Card size is 2.125" by 3.375" (2 1/8" by 3 3/8") - same size as a standard ID or credit card
- Card thickness is 15mil (credit cards and many IDs are 30mil thickness)
- Slot opening size is 1/8" by 9/16" (standard badge straps and clips are 1/2" wide and fit comfortably)
- Plastic card is waterproof and very durable
